As soon as the leak was located the cooling system was soaked in Dawn with enzymes.
At the same time a glob of guck was placed in three jars with Dawn, to see what was going on in the cooling system.
The mixture stayed on the bottom of the jar it first, because it sticks to surfaces.
Later the mixture separated from the jar and rose to float on the surface.
As the enzymes weakened the bond you can see holes developing in the goop mixture.
All of this time the specimens were unmoved as was the solution in the Boxster's cooling system. But as soon as the car was started these were shaken. At first the oil broke apart into fibers, but as the dawn wrapped around each particle they got smaller and smaller.
What was going on in the car would have been better of course because it had agitation as well as heat. The forth jar is Dawn solution removed from the cooling system. You can see the oil mixture floating freely on the water has very fine almost molecular pieces wrapped in dishwashing fluid, which can easily be removed by exchanging the fluid with coolant.
The water pump is submerged in liquid in the lower part of the engine, there has been no problem so far with soap bubbles.
